Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has promised an elevated flyover at Manesar near here in Haryana despite objections from the National Security Guard (NSG).
Gadkari made the promise to a 15-member delegation from Manesar which, headed by Haryana minister Vikram Singh Yadav, called on him in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The delegation urged Gadkari to approve an elevated flyover at Manesar on the Delhi-Jaipur-Mumbai National Highway-8.
The delegation said due to widening and strengthening of NH-8, road accidents in the highly populated zone had shot up.
Earlier, the NSG objected to an elevated flyover citing security reasons.
The NSG argument was that commuters passing through the flyover would be able to watch the activities in the NSG complex.
But private builders were allowed to construct high-rise buildings close to the NSG base.
