Train movement between Ghaziabad and Delhi was disrupted for about two hours after a railway employee was crushed to death by an EMU train.
The accident occurred at 12.30 p.m. Monday at the Sahibabad railway station when gangman Faiz Nath was working on the track and was run over by a Ghaziabad-New Delhi EMU train.
After being informed, the driver stopped the train.
However, the agitated railway workers placed the body on the tracks and staged a dharna.
They disrupted train moment for about two hours due to which trains like Poorva and Dehradun Express besides a goods train remained stranded at the station.
The gangmen's association allowed train movement only after Sahibabad railway station master N.P. Malik assured that the kin of the dead employee will be given compensation and an inquiry will be instituted into the accident.
