Rome, May 26 (IANS/AKI) A 71-year-old German man was killed on the Italian island of Ischia when he fell into a ravine while hiking, and his wife was slightly injured, police said.
The tourist and his wife were walking in hills above the village of Campagnano on Thursday, with two German friends at the time of the tragedy.
The couple's friends called police and emergency services but the tourist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were due to receive authorisation from prosecutors in Naples to remove the tourist's body from the ravine.
