Lawyers and deed writers in the sadar tehsil and sub-registrar offices here Wednesday struck work following another robbery overnight in which a stamp vendor was looted of Rs.18 lakh.
They said the strike would continue till the culprits are arrested. Two more incidents were also reported Tuesday.
Sunday night, robbers looted jewellery shop owner Gaurav Garg who suffered grievous bullet injuries.
Tuesday night three robbers on a mobike snatched the bag containing Rs.14 lakh and stamp papers worth Rs.4 lakh from stamp vendor Sanjay Garg who was returning to his Raj Nagar residence.
When Sanjay offered resistance, they fired a bullet into his stomach, hit him on the head with the pistol butt and escaped. Though Sanjay fired from his licenced pistol, nobody was hit. The vendor's condition is stable.
Meanwhile, the traders' sit-in strike was on for the third day while the jewellers' association kept shops closed over Sunday's incident.
The Bharatiya Janata Party lifted its sit-in at the police office following city Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Yadav's assurance of solving all cases and arresting the culprits within three days.
Tuesday, unidentified robbers barged into a house and snatched cash and a gold chain from the wife of financier Subhash Bainsla, resident of 176, sector-12, Vasundhara.
At the same time, a motorcycle-riding criminal shot at a Class 10 student in the Shalimar Garden area of Sahibabad when he was going to his father's milk plant. The student was rushed to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in Delhi and then shifted to the Fortis Hospital in Noida where his condition was described as stable.
