The Ghaziabad police have arrested 435 criminals in a specially launched drive - Operation Smart - in last two days.
District police chief Dharmendra Yadav said Operation Smart was launched Nov 1 after judicial officers asked the force to expedite the arrest of criminals to enable the courts to dispose of the pending cases at the earliest.
The Indirapuram police arrested a record 72 wanted criminals. Seventy criminals were arrested from Loni area, 58 from Sahibabad and 57 from Vijay Nagar, Yadav said at a press conference.
