Mortal remains of classical singer Girija Devi would be flown in to her home town Varanasi on Thursday for last rites, family sources said on Wednesday.
The Thumri exponent died at a Kolkata hospital of a cardiac arrest late Tuesday.
She will be cremated at the Manikarnika Ghat on the banks of river Ganga.
Several music lovers, relatives, family members, her disciples and locals are likely to be in attendance.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked district authorities in Varanasi to conduct her last rites with full state honours. Earlier, the Chief Minister, who was on a visit to Varanasi, paid floral tributes at a portrait of the late singer at the circuit house. He also announced that the cultural centre at Varanasi would be named after her.
