BJP MLA Carlos Almeida was hospitalised on Thursday following a "minor stroke", a BJP official said.
Almeida, the MLA from Vasco, complained of chest pain before falling unconscious at his residence, before he was shifted to the Manipal hospital located in Dona Paula, near Panaji.
"Carlos Almeida was admitted to a hospital on Thursday morning due to a minor stroke. He is now stable and under observation," Goa BJP spokesperson Sidharth Kuncalienkar said.
According to hospital authorities, Almeida's health was stable and that he has been kept under observation for 48 hours.
