Laxman Behare, Goa Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, on Wednesday refused to comment on attempts being made by a rebel faction of the Sangh to re-unite with the parent body of the right-wing organisation.
Behare, who addressed a press conference in the state capital to highlight the harassment of RSS and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Kerala, dodged questions related to recent statements made by Subhash Velingkar, who heads the breakaway faction of the Sangh in Goa, about re-joining the parent outfit.
"We cannot speak on the issue at this moment," Behare said.
Velingkar was sacked as the state chief of the Sangh for his criticism of the Goa unit of the BJP and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in the run-up to the February 4 state assembly elections.
