West Bromwhich Albion goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard could face a charge from the English Football Association for posting a vulgar answer on social networking site Instagram on Tuesday in response to fellow footballer Wayne Rooney's comments that he is annoying.
Last week when asked to name one of his team-mates, former or current, who he wouldn't want to be stuck in a lift with, Rooney said: "Anders Lindegaard. He's just annoying."
Lindegaard's posted a picture with him standing behind Rooney, and the United captain crouching down and wrote: "That's why you don't wanna be stuck in an elevator with me lad? @waynerooney #happytoseeyoustillgotshitbanter".
The post might land the former Manchester United custodian in trouble as there is a FA rule which punishes social media writings or pictures, deemed abusive.
In March, forward Carlton Cole of West Ham United was fined 20,000 pounds ($30,152) for abusing a rival fan.
Lindegaard switched to West Bromwhich from Manchester United at the beginning of the season.
