A physical education teacher was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a minor girl in a village, about 40 km from here.
The accused Bandya Rane has been accused of raping a 16-year-old girl two months ago. She was living near his home in Tuem village.
The complaint was filed under relevant sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act on Thursday, after the parents of the minor girl found that she was two months pregnant.
"We filed an FIR (first information report) after medical examination of the victim. The accused has been arrested today (Thursday)," said a police official.
