Goulart hat-trick leads Cruzeiro's Libertadores romp
Ricardo Goulart scored a hat-trick as Cruzeiro defeated Universidad de Chile 5-1 in their Copa Libertadores Group 5 clash.
The 22-year-old netted twice in the first half before adding a third five minutes from time at the Mineirao stadium Tuesday night, reports Xinhua.
Dagoberto and Willian were also on target for the Brazilian champions while Argentine midfielder Gustavo Lorenzetti scored for the visitors.
"I'm really happy with the way I and the team played but now I just want to rest and focus on the next few matches," Goulart said.
"I am delighted but have my feet on the ground because we still haven't won anything."
In Buenos Aires, Fernando Tobio and Lucas Pratto scored either side of halftime as hosts Velez Sarsfield overcame Brazil's Atletico Paranaense 2-0.
