Govinda to go live on TV

Actor Govinda will go live on the small screen through live voting-led singing TV show "Rising Star".

Govinda will digitally connect with the show to promote his upcoming movie "Aa Gaya Hero". After the audition round, Govinda will announce names of the contestants who will proceed in the competition.

Though Govinda will not be physically present on the set, he will go live in the middle of the shoot to encourage the contestants to put their best foot forward.

"I've been following 'Rising Star' since its launch. I'm impressed by its live format and the exceptional performances presented by the talent," Govinda said in a statement.

He added: "It's an absolute pleasure for me to be part of such a path-breaking show, and I am looking forward to an entertaining and musical night!"

"Rising Star" is a first-of-its-kind interactive engagement-led format which puts the power of deciding the fate of the contestant in the hands of the viewers. Aired on Colors channel, the show is judged by Diljit Dosanjh, Shankar Mahadevan and Monali Thakur.
