Goyal hails budget as transformative

Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday hailed the general budget 2016-17 presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, describing it as "transformative".

"This budget is pro poor, pro farmer and pro common man. This will fulfill the aspirations of every section of the society.

"Overall, it's a transformative budget which will help everyone," Goyal told reporters here.

He also said that the budget will bring down the inflation.

"Finance minister has assured the nation that this government is commited to 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas'. He touched every section of the society and everybody will be benefitted by this budget," he said.

Jaitley, while presenting the budget, hailed the power ministry for the speedy work under ural electrification programme.

"It was a tough job but we succeeded. Although, the prime minister has set the target of electrification of every village till 2018 but I hope we will complete the target before the end of 2017," Goyal said.
