Security forces have busted a guerrilla hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, an army officer said Monday.

Briefing reporters here, Brig. Sanjay Mitra, officiating brigadier general staff (BGS) of the city-headquartered Chinar Corps, said troops of 46 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion and special operations group (SOG) of Baramulla police launched an operation Sunday on a tip-off from intelligence agencies.

"After a search for four hours, a hideout was busted on the outskirts of Baramulla town," he said, adding that the seizures included a disposable rocket launcher, two rocket-propelled grenades, an AK-56 rifle, four AK-56 magazines, 286 rounds of AK-56 rifle, a pistol, a pistol magazine, and 18 rounds of pistol ammunition.

A radio set, a set of khaki uniform, two leaves from a letter pad of the Jamiat-ul-Mujahidin (JuM) outfit and other administrative items were also recovered, added Mitra.

Meanwhile, the operation against a group of heavily-armed guerrillas trapped in a cordon by the army near the Line of Control in Keran sector of Kupwara district continued for the 14th day Monday.

Army's northern command chief, Lt. Gen. Sanjiv Chachra and Chinar Corps chief, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh visited the area Sunday and reviewed the anti-guerrilla operation.
