The BJP's Gujarat unit is set for a massive overhaul in the wake of its pathetic show in the elections to 323 local self-government bodies earlier this month, party sources said.
A decision to this effect is learnt to have been taken at a meeting at the party headquarters in Koba in Gandhinagar. According to an official release by the party, the meeting was held to discuss strategy for the future but sources said it was initiated to appoint new office-bearers at all levels.
State party chief R.C. Raldu, whose term has expired but was not retired in the wake of the elections to the local bodies, is also likely be replaced.
According to the sources, new office-bearers at ward and taluka levels will be appointed between January 7 and January 13, while the new district chiefs would be named from January 15 to 21, following which the new state chief would be appointed.
