An engineer with an IT firm has been booked for raping a woman on the pretext of marrying her, police said Monday.
Piyush, 40, and the 36-year-old victim came in contact through a marriage bureau web site and started living together here in Saraswati Vihar.
The victim, a graduate and resident of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, said in her complaint that after living together for months, the accused refused to marry her.
Piyush, who hails from West Patel Nagar in Delhi, was absconding, said a police officer. A case of rape has been slapped against him. Both the man and the woman are divorcees.
