Gurgaon's Rapid Metro will be formally inaugurated Dec 15. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has given his consent for this, an official spokesperson said Friday.
The Rapid Metro became operational Nov 14.
Minister for Urban Development Kamal Nath is also likely to attend the inauguration along with Urban Development Ministry Secretary Sudhir Krishna.
Deputy Commissioner, Gurgaon, Shekhar Vidyarthi, Friday held a meeting with the concerned officers and CEO-cum-managing director of IL&FS Rail Limited Sanjiv Rai to review the arrangements for the programme, scheduled at the Sikanderpur Metro Station, a convergence point of both the Delhi Metro and the Rapid Metro.
The Rapid Metro is the first metro built in public-private partnership mode in the country.
