Gurgaon will soon have a 24X7 hospital for animals with indoor admission facility, an official said here on Tueday.
"The first-of-its-kind facility will be set up in Basai village on the land allotted by the Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon, to the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). It will treat injured animals and also cater to the needs of such animals which meet with an accident," a state government spokesman said here.
As per the SPCA, between 15 and 20 complaints about injured animals are received in Gurgaon district every day.
"The society will also take care of the complaints related to the overloading of animals, resulting in the death of some of them," an official of the SPCA said.
The hospital would be set up near the village school.
