The Saral Kendra of Gurugram has become the first Centre in Haryana to have cashless fee payment facility, an official said on Monday.

The facility was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh.

With this, the applicants will be able to make payments through multiple digital modes like UPI and Aadhaar Pay towards services such as acquiring, renewing a driving license as well as getting vehicles registered in Gurugram.

The facility aims to enhance convenience for residents as it eliminates the need of transacting in cash and significantly saves their time.

ICICI Bank has partnered with the Gurugram District Administration in providing this facility.

Initially the cashless payment solution will be provided for motor licensing and registration services. It will soon be deployed across other services offered by the Saral Kendra as well.

Talking about the initiative, Vinay Pratap Singh, said: "The citizens of Gurugram are currently paying for issuance of learner and permanent driving license as well as renewal of driving licence through cash and on daily basis."

"We are happy to partner with ICICI Bank to implement this new facility which will enable residents to make quick cashless payments for services offered by the government through the Kendra," he added.

Vikas Mathur, Zonal Head - Institutional Business, ICICI Bank, said: "We are delighted to partner with the District Administration Gurugram to extend our digital banking solutions to its citizens. These services are a testament to our constant efforts at creating products and services that offer a seamless banking experience to our citizens."
