As the Supreme Court upheld on Friday the death sentence to four accused in the Nirbhaya gang-rape case, the bereaved father said that all convicts should be hanged as soon as possible.
"I am happy that the Supreme Court has heard our voice and understood the suffering Nirbhaya underwent. It has given justice to Nirbhaya and the entire country," he told reporters outside the court.
He further said that he did not have any issues with the delay in getting justice anymore. "There has been a delay, but I have no problem now. The (court) decision is correct," he said.
He said that there was a reduction in the number of cases of the heinous crime against women after the Nirbhaya gang-rape case led to the country-wide demonstrations. "But we will have to make more efforts," he added.
