One Direction star Harry Styles is reportedly set to play legendary English singer Mick Jagger in a film about the rock band The Rolling Stones' 1972 album "Exile on Main St".

The movie will chronicle the band's 1972 double album which they recorded in France in a haze of drugs and alcohol, reports dailystar.co.uk.

Styles's resemblance to Jagger got noticed while filming a movie called "Dunkirk".

"He's about 10 years too young but make-up and special effects can sort that out," a source said.

Following the release of their 1971 classic "Sticky Fingers", the Rolling Stones left England for financial reasons. The band had reportedly spent the money they owed in taxes and left Britain to stay off the radar.

They moved to the South of France, where singer Keith Richards rented his villa to his bandmates and they used his basement as a recording studio.

At the time, Richards was having huge amounts of heroin flown in for himself and guests like songwriter Gram Parsons.

There were differences at the time between heavy drug-using band members (Richards and Mick Taylor) and those who tended to abstain (Jagger, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts). So, session musicians had to be used at times.

Drawing on material they had worked on as early as 1969, the band came up with the double album, in May 1972.
