The Haryana cabinet on Saturday approved enhancement of the petty grant of Member of Council of Ministers from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 25 lakh per annum from the current financial year, officials said.
The Haryana cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, approved the enhancement.
The Ministers in Haryana will now have an enhanced grant to distribute.
Petty grant is the assistance which is being given to the needy persons and institutions by the members of the Council of Ministers.
The ministers had been complaining that the petty grant was too small and they could not distribute enough amount to the needy persons and institutions.
Haryana has 14 ministers, including the Chief Minister. Eight ministers (excluding the Chief Minister) are of cabinet rank.
