Funds released to schools and other institutions in Haryana for various projects will now be monitored through a web-based technology, state Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said on Wednesday.
"The Haryana government has developed School Building Work Management System (SBWMS), a web based solution for monitoring of funds released to schools and institutions. The system is designed to track the financial progress of all the construction activities in the schools and institutions starting from sanction of the funds till completion of building and submission of utilisation certificate," he said.
Observing several grants were being issued to the different schools and institutions by Director Secondary Education, Director Elementary Education, the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan as well as by other agencies like MPLAD scheme, District Plan Scheme, Women and Child Development Department and other agencies, he said it was difficult to keep an eye over all the grants from the headquarters.
The SBWMS will provide an automated and transparent interface for civil work-related financial activities and reduce the time span in sanction allocations and seeking utilisation of funds released for civil works.
"The system has been developed to maintain transparency in the expenditure on the civil work, doing away the needs to visit the office of the directorate, sanctioning of amount or utilisation certificates for different civil works, and fair and transparent decision making process of civil works related activities," said Sharma.
