With over 63.71 lakh tonnes of wheat arriving in grain markets in Haryana, officials said on Saturday that the wheat arrival was the highest till date.
"Over 63.71 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis of the state, which is the highest arrival till date. 54.98 lakh MT of wheat had arrived in the mandis during the corresponding period last year," a spokesman of the food and supplies department said here.
Out of the total arrival, 63.70 lakh tonnes has been purchased by government procurement agencies.
Sirsa, Karnal and Kaithal districts were leading in wheat arrival so far.
