The city unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau seized nearly two and a half kgs of hashish here and arrested three people, an official said on Monday.

Two Kolkata residents named Henry Lawrence Manna and Robert Dixon were arrested from outside a departmental store near Sealdah railway station on Sunday. Two kgs of hashish was seized from them, an NCB official said.

"Another 450 grams was seized from Dixon's house in Ballygunge. The total worth of the seized drug is about Rs 15 lakh in the illegal trading market," he added.

Interrogation revealed that the drug, which is made from cannabis resin, was brought here from Himachal Pradesh's Kullu to be sold to people for various Christmas and New Year parties in the city.

The officials also arrested Nikhil Lakhwani, DJ of a prominent central Kolkata night club on Sunday, for his alleged involvement in the case.
