Refusing to order a re-test of Punjab's Pre-Medical Entrance Test (PMET- 2015), the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday directed that extra marks be given to all students for the wrong questions that were included in the question paper in May this year.

A single judge bench of Justice R.K. Jain said that all students would get equal marks for the five wrong questions included in the PMET question paper, and ordered that a revised merit list be issued after including the marks.

The test, conducted by the government-run Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, was held on May 17. Students had immediately pointed out that some questions contained glaring mistakes.

A section of the students had demanded that a re-test be ordered and had even approached the high court in this regard. The petitioners submitted details of about 40 questions which they claimed were wrong.

The PMET was conducted for admission to about 1,000 seats in medical colleges across Punjab. Over 15,500 students took the PMET this year which was held at the Lovely Professional University at Phagwara near Jalandhar.

Admissions to medical colleges will start after the revised result is declared by the BFUHS.
