Rabat, Nov 24 (IANS/EFE) Six people were killed and 10 others reported missing in heavy rains in southern Morocco, official sources said.

According to health officials, the tragedy happened in an area outside Bouizakarne, a town in southern Morocco, EFE reported, citing the MAP news agency.

The bodies of the victims, including a 9-year-old girl, were taken to a hospital in Bouizakarne.

Officials said that the missing people were travelling in three taxis that were swept away by floodwaters.

The heavy rains in the area have hampered rescue operations, officials added.
