Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren is in talks to join actress Keira Knightley in upcoming film "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms".
The live-action film is based on late author E.T.A. Hoffmann's 1816 story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", reports variety.com.
Mackenzie Foy will play the lead role of Clara. In the film, one of Clara's Christmas toys -- a Nutcracker doll -- comes to life and battles the evil Mouse King with seven heads.
Lasse Hallström will direct the film from Ashleigh Powell's script.
Mirren, who last appeared in 2015 film "Trumbo", will next be seen with Will Smith in "Collateral Beauty". She also recently filmed a cameo in "Fast and Furious 8".
