The East Central Railway has set up a helpline booth at Patna junction to provide information to family members of passengers who were travelling on the Mumbai-bound Janata Express train which got derailed, officials on Wednesday said.

At least 19 people were killed in Madhya Pradesh's Harda district overnight when the Varanasi-bound Kamayani Express and Mumbai-bound Janata Express trains derailed and fell into the Kali Machak river, authorities said on Wednesday.

The Janata Express got derailed and a couple of bogies fell into the river.

A railway official said that the railways has also set up two other helpline booths at Danapur and Rajendra Nagar from where the train departed on its way to Mumbai.

A senior railway official told IANS here that all of the dead belonged to Madhya Pradesh.

"So far, there are no reports of any casualties from Bihar," he said.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his pain over the incident.

Four bogies of the Kamayani Express, too, got derailed from the track while travelling past the Khirkiya railway station in Harda district and landed into the river.
