With an aim to bring the world of India's varied culture to the small screen, History TV18 will soon take the next step of 'Going Local' by introducing a fresh set of 'Indianised' programming content.
After presenting world-class international content, the channel will get stories from every nook and corner of the country, with rural audiences in focus. The announcement was made on Monday via a statement.
The path to go 'desi' was paved earlier this month with the launch of "OMG! Yeh Mera India" with Krushna Abhishek as the host. It will go on air on March 10.
The show will take audiences across the length and breadth of the country, showcasing 'OMG' facts about its people and places. With the new motto, the shows will be shot in India, and the channel will present a mix of English as well as Hindi content.
Sangeetha Aiyer, vice president and head marketing, A+E Networks, TV18, said: "It's exciting news for all our viewers that we are now creating local content and launching shows that are India specific and shot here.
"While India related content exists, the key differentiator for the channel is that we plan to create a lasting India franchises through our shows, which is a first of sorts for our category."
