Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said that it was "something to be proud of" to see Mario Suarez "grow up from being a child" and stressed that the Spanish football club is and will always be home for the midfielder who is moving to Italy's Fiorentina.
"You are going to a great team and a great city. Seeing you grow up in this club from being a child is something to be proud of. You are a thoroughbred Atletico," Cerezo said on Tuesday, reports Efe.
"Wherever you go, you will be an example of our colours. Mario, this is your home; it always has been and always will be. We are not saying 'goodbye,' only 'so long.' We wish you all the best. You are part of our history. It is not easy for a player to win so many titles for his team."
