It was a hot Sunday in Delhi with the maximum temperature settling at 39.6 degree Celsius, two notches above the average. The Met office has forecast cloudy Monday with light rains and thunder showers in some areas of the city.
The minimum temperature settled at 29.8 degree Celsius, also two notches above the average. The humidity hovered between a high of 74 percent and low of 39 percent.
"The skies will remain cloudy with light rain, thunder showers likely in some areas of the city," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told IANS.
Monday's maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 35 degrees and 29 degrees Celsius.
The monsoon arrived in Delhi last Sunday, a fortnight ahead of schedule, but the national capital has not received any rain since then due to the "weak phase of monsoon", added the IMD official.
