Prakash Javadekar, who took charge of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry on Thursday, inaugurated "INFOCOM 2016" -- India's leading business, technology and leadership conference -- at India Habitat Centre here.

An initiative of the Ananda Bazar Patrika (ABP) Group, the day-long conference themed on "Transform, Disrupt, Transform" witnessed participation of over 300 delegates comprising industry leaders and policymakers, among others.

"Power of ideas prepares ground for real transformation. However, if discrimination persists it would hinder the change," said Javadekar.

The event also marked the second edition of INFOCOM - New Delhi chapter.

The opening sessions witnessed keynote addresses by Manoj Chugh, President-Enterprise Business, Tech Mahindra on the theme "Disruption, Innovation and Industry Change" where he spoke about industry change being driven by disruptive innovations and transformations.

A special session with Piyush Goyal, Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy, was another highlight of the event. In the session titled "The New Age of Industry with IoT", some key insights were drawn on the lines of industry changes with respect to Internet of Things.
