Hyderabad Metro Rail has begun test run and plans to start trial run early next year.
L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd Friday announced tests on the viaduct between Nagole and Mettuguda, an eight-kilometer stretch on one of the three corridors.
"The test run will continue till December and after this trial run will start and this will continue till the Metro opens for commercial operations in March next year," a company spokesman told IANS.
One train with three coaches is being used for the test run which began Thursday.
The first three train cars for the project arrived here in May from the Hyundai-Rotem factory in South Korea.
The 72-km elevated Metro rail project, being built at a cost of Rs.14,132 crore, is one of the biggest projects in the world in public private partnership (PPP) model.
