Indian Air Force chief Arup Raha Tuesday left for London on a visit to discuss various issues related to defence cooperation and to go around various defence installations, including one for training for the Hawk trainer aircraft, an official statement said.

During the visit aimed at consolidating the robust bilateral military ties between India and Britain, Air Chief Marshal Raha would be calling on British Under Secretary of Stata and Minister for Defence Equipment Support and Technology Philip Dunne to discuss issues on the ongoing defence cooperation between the two countries.

He would also be visiting Royal Air Force Valley where he would be briefed on the training facilities of the HAWK T2 aircraft with an interaction with qualified flying instructors and students.

Thereafter a visit to RAF Brize Norton is planned where he would be on a guided tour to Voyager hub and the Voyager Academy where training of crew and support staff takes place.

Raha would then be briefed on the transport aircraft C-130 and C-17's current operations in Britain.
