US technology giant IBM announced that it has purchased Israeli data security company Trusteer, Globes economic daily reported.
According to the report, the deal is estimated to be valued at $630 million in addition to millions of dollars' salary payment to Trusteer's employees, Xinhua reported.
IBM will also set up an Israeli software lab where 200 engineers will conduct research and development on mobile device security apps and cloud-delivered security solutions.
"Trusteer's experience and superior technology in endpoint defence and advanced malware prevention will help our clients across all industries address the constantly evolving threats they are facing," IBM said in a statement Thursday.
"Together with IBM's capabilities in advanced threat detection, analysis and remediation, we will now be able to offer our clients several additional layers of defence against sophisticated attackers," it added.
