The first load of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is to be off-loaded at the brand new Rs.4,200 crore Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) terminal at Puthu Vypeen near here within two days, an official said Thursday.
Technical director of PLL Rajinder Singh told media here that the first cargo has come and is waiting in the outer sea and it would be off-loaded at the terminal very soon.
"The rough sea has delayed the ship that has come from Qatar to berth at the terminal. These are all unforeseen things," said Singh.
The ship has come with a load of one lakh cubic metres of LNG from Ras Gas in Qatar.
Petronet LNG Limited is promoted by GAIL (India) Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corp Limited, Indian Oil Corp Limited and Bharat Petroleum Corp Limited.
The Kochi Project is a Greenfield LNG Regasification terminal with a capacity of five million metric tonnes per annum.
