IIFA 2014: Mehra proud of 10 nominations for 'Bhaag...' (Movie Snippets)

Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, whose film "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" has got 10 nominations for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, feels proud that the movie is being talked about on such a forum.

"When your film is being talked about on an international platform and in the presence of some big names from Hollywood and the Hindi film industry, it's a moment of pride. I am extremely happy," Mehra told IANS.

The IIFA weekend and awards is being held in Tampa Bay, Florida April 23-26 this year. Mehra's "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" has already been announced the winner in nine technical categories.

Asked whether Hollywood actors are as charged about Hindi cinema as Indian actors are about Hollywood, he said: ""Cinema is cinema. I don't think there is any obsession from either industries. If they have roles and scripts for our actors and if we have scripts for them, it's a welcome change."

Rajkummar grew real moustache for 'CityLights'

Rajkummar Rao has gone Aamir Khan's way by getting deep into a character for "CityLights". For the movie, the young actor grew a real moustache to fulfill the requirement for his role.

"CityLights" is directed by Hansal Mehta.

Instead of opting for an artificial moustache, Rajkummar grew a real one to keep the look of the film consistent. He also reportedly pushed the shoot of "Dolly Ki Doli" to ensure the look gets maintained for the promotion of "CityLights", slated to release May 30.

This is the kind of dedication reflected by superstar Aamir, who had kept his real "Mangal Pandey: The Rising" moustache continuously throughout the shoot and promotions to maintain the authentic look.

"CityLights" is an official remake of the international award winning film "Metro Manila".

Malaika excited to walk the ramp at IIFA event

Model-actress Malaika Arora Khan will sizzle on the ramp during the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Rocks event in Tampa Bay, Florida next week, and she is upbeat about flaunting a creation by her friend and designer Vikram Phadnis.

"I'm so excited to be walking at IIFA Rocks this year. The Nazaakat Collection is all about celebrating femininity. Elegant Indian wear in rich hues are an all time favorite and are guaranteed to be a runaway hit," the "Chaiya chaiya" girl said in a statement.

Praising the designer and the platform, she said: "Vikram is not just a brilliant designer, but is also a very dear friend, and I am honoured that he has asked me to walk the ramp for this gorgeous collection. The Nazaakat Collection truly deserves to be showcased in a global scale and IIFA provides the perfect opportunity."

Phadnis has designed an exclusive collection for Vishal Fashions, and that will be showcased at the IIFA Rocks, which is specifically designed platform for fashion and music.

To be held April 24 at the Tampa Convention Centre, the evening will be attended by Bollywood stars like Shahid Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
