India and Morocco on Thursday inked MoUs to enhance cooperation in telemedicine, drug regulation and pharmaceutical quality control as well as water resources, roads and maritime sectors, an official statement said.
As per an MoU, signed by Health Minister J.P. Nadda and his visiting Moroccan counterpart Abdelkader Amara, the two sides also agreed to co-operate in the field of non-communicable diseases, including child cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
Communicable diseases, maternal, child and neonatal health, hospital twinning for exchange of good practices and training in administration and management of health services and hospitals are the other areas, said a Health Ministry statement.
"Another MoU was signed between Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry and Marrakech Mohamed VI University Hospital to collaborate in the field of telemedicine, technical support in controlling epidemics and support in rendering second opinion on various complicated cases," it said.
Meanwhile, an MoU was inked when Amara, who is also Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water Minister, called on Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
"Framework Agreement for Cooperation in Training between the National Ports Agency of Morocco and the Indian Maritime University and cooperation Framework Agreement between the Institute of Training in Engines and Road Maintenance of Morocco and Indian Academy of Highway Engineers are also part of the MoU," said a Road, Transport and Highways & Shipping Ministry statement.
"We are looking forward to utilise the immense scope for cooperation between the two countries in the road transport, water resources and marine sectors," Gadkari said, as per the statement.
