There is no reason for India to be concerned about the forthcoming Russia-Pakistan joint military drills, authorities said on Friday.
"We were informed by the Russian Defence Ministry that these exercises will not be carried out in disputed areas. Hence there is no reason for India to worry about it," Xinhua news agency quoted Zamir Kabulov from the Foreign Ministry as saying.
Russia had already told India the regions where the exercises with Pakistan were going to take place, Kabulov added.
Pakistan and Russia will conduct the Druzhba-2016 tactical exercises from September 24 till October 7 in the Army High Altitude School in Pakistan's Rattu town and at a special forces training centre in Cherat hill station.
The exercises aim to strengthen and develop cooperation between the countries' armed forces, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
