Defending champions India qualified for the women's 4X400 metres relay finals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games here Friday.
The team of Debashree Majumdar, Tintu Luka, Ashwini Akkunji and Poovamma Machettira clocked three minutes and 33.67 seconds to finish fifth out of six starting teams at the Hampden Park Stadium.
The English relay team won the heat in 3:27.88.
Ashwini is the only member of the 2010 Delhi Games gold medal winning squad still left competing this time.
Saturday's final will have eight teams -- India, Bahamas, Jamaica, Nigeria, Australia, England, Trinidad and Tobago and Canada.
