The All India Football Federation (AIFF) was Saturday forced to cancel India's friendly against Palestine, scheduled for Oct 9 at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri.
However, the first friendly Oct 6 will be played as scheduled.
AIFF was intimated by the Palestine Football Federation that as they have already committed their availability to the Pakistan Football Federation to play another friendly against them in the same FIFA window, they will not be in a position to play the Oct 9 match.
As per the FIFA International Friendly regulations, a country cannot play more than two international friendlies in their window, which in this case is Oct 6-14.
It was in August 2014 that Palestine Football Federation had signed the agreement with AIFF confirming their availability to play back-to-back friendlies against India in October, because of which AIFF had to turn down Malaysia Football Federation's request to play a match Oct 9.
