India on Friday expressed concern and sought clarification from Pakistan on reports that some controversial elements have been appointed by Pakistan to a committee to be associated with the Kartarpur corridor.
It also asked Pakistan to clarify its stand on key proposals put forward by India at the last meeting held in Attari to discuss the modalities of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor.
Informed sources said that India summoned Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah and asked him to clarify Islamabad's response to the issues only after which the next meeting on the modalities of the corridor can be scheduled.
In order to take forward the infrastructure development for the corridor in an expeditious manner, India has proposed to hold another meeting of technical experts in mid-April to resolve outstanding issues agreed to at the last meeting.
Kartarpur in Pakistan is where the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak, spent his last years.
