A three-year-old Indian boy in the Makkah province of Saudi Arabia, who was run over by a bus Sunday while returning from school, has been buried.
Zayan Rahman, from Belgaum district in the south Indian state of Karnataka, who died after falling from a private school bus and being run over by another bus, was buried Monday.
"My son was returning home on board a bus belonging to a private school," the Arab News quoted Zayan's father Ziaur Rahman as saying.
Indian parents in the city are urging Indian authorities to consider establishing Indian community schools.
They say Indian schools are safer for their children.
Rahman, who works for a leading construction company at Shumaisy in the province, said finding schools for children of the Indian community is a major problem in the area.
"I have lost my only son, but hope to guarantee the safety of other children of my community," he said.
