Delhi based ADM Technologies, an industrial consulting and market research organisation, is in talks with German company BANSS to set up a slaughtering equipment joint venture in India, said a top company official.
"We have signed a MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the German company BANSS a major in manufacturing equipments used in slaughter houses. We intend to sign an equal joint venture agreement before the end of this year and the proposed plant will be located in South India," Deb Mukherji, managing director told IANS here.
According to him around 300 meat processing units will come in the country with most modern systems over the next five years.
He said BANSS has already installed its systems at Ghazipur slaughterhouse in New Delhi.
According to Mukherji, initially the joint venture company will import the equipments from BANSS and install them and later get into manufacturing.
"Even when the machines are imported there will be around 10 percent local content," he said.
Speaking about the company's consulting business, Mukherji said lot of Japanese mid sized companies with a turnover between Rs.100 crore - Rs.200 crore are interested in setting up base in India.
"These are largely family owned having strong technology base. They are looking at Indian groups wanting to go up in their product value chain," he said.
