Independent software provider Informatica on Monday announced the expansion of its India Centre of Innovation, aimed at focusing on the country as a promising market with plans to invest millions more in the next four years.
"India has been a successful R&D location for Informatica for more than a decade, with over half the engineering talent located in India. The engineers at our India Centre of Innovation have developed cutting-edge software solutionsa including the very recent Live Data Map," said company CEO Anil Chakravarthy.
Starting its India operations in 2003, the Bengaluru centre of Informatica has emerged as its largest R&D facility globally.
It played a key role in developing major products and technological innovations including the high performance and scalable Live Data Map which sources, stores and organises an enterprise's entire metadata.
The company is a leading data integration player and has identified itself as a strategic data management partner to many big names across the world.
Informatica's managing director Srivatsan Vaiyakarnam said the company is committed to expanding its workfore and infrastructure in Bengaluru.
"We are dedicated to building meaningful relationships with our channel partners and system integrators in India, which provides us with the right elements to support the phenomenal growth in technological innovation that the country is witnessing," he said.
Currently, the company has 1,100 employees in India operating in R&D, customer support, professional services, sales, marketing, partner alliances, IT, procurement, human resources and finance.
The US company enables 5,800 enterprises globally to leverage their information assets lying on-premises, in the cloud, on the internet and on social networks.
In 2016, the company has invested $185 million in R&D globally and has 11 innovation centres in total.
