Indian IT bellwether Infosys Ltd and Chinese telecom product major Huawei will jointly offer cloud-based, big data and communication solutions to global enterprises.
"As strategic partners, we will jointly develop IT solutions combining Huawei's cloud infrastructure and our service expertise to target enterprise customers looking to modernise their operations," the global software major said in a statement here Thursday.
The partnership agreement was signed at a time when Chinese President Xi Jinping is on a three-day maiden visit to India since Wednesday.
Both partners will also build reference architectures and standard solutions for big data platforms using Huawei hardware for joint go-to-market efforts.
"We will integrate Huawei's contact technologies with our communication services to provide call centres to enterprise customers and explore setting up a joint lab in China for better delivery of services," Infosys chief executive Vishal Sikka said on the occasion.
Infosys will also strengthen the partnership in the back office and IT space of Huawei.
"We are focused on helping customers succeed with software and services to grow their business in new ways and achieve operational efficiencies," Sikka said.
As a global ICT solutions provider, Huawei has end-to-end capabilities in carrier networks, enterprise, consumer and cloud computing areas.
"By combining software services of Infosys with our hardware expertise in ICT, we can build a beneficial ecosystem for our customers," Huawei chief executive Eric Xu said.
In a related development, Infosys also tied with Microsoft and Hitachi Data Systems to widen its scope of solutions in cloud, big data and analytics, communication and infrastructure and data centre transformation solutions.
