Infosys net up 1.6 percent in second quarter

Infosys Ltd posted Rs.2,407 crore net profit for second quarter (July-Sep) of this fiscal (2013-14), registering a marginal increase of 1.6 percent year-on-year (YoY) as per the Indian accounting standard.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges Friday, the IT bellwether said consolidated revenue for the quarter under review (Q2) jumped 31.5 percent YoY to Rs.12,965 crore (Rs.130 billion).

Sequentially, net profit grew 1.4 percent and revenue 15.1 percent from first quarter (April-June) of this fiscal (FY 2014).

Under the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) net income, however, declined 11.1 percent YoY to $383 million though revenue grew 15 percent YoY to $2.07 billion.

Sequentially, net income declined 8.4 percent but revenue grew 3.8 percent from first quarter of this fiscal.
