The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has informed the suspended Indian Olympic Association (IOA) that they will be attending its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) Aug 25.
IOC director general Christophe De Kepper in a letter Friday gave the go-ahead to IOA to hold the EGM and said IOC member Francisco J. Elizalde will be representing them.
"We take note of this date (Aug 25) and are pleased to confirm that the IOC will attend this Extraordinary General Meeting on 25 August and will be represented by IOC honorary member Mr. Francisco J. Elizalde, who will be accompanied by Mr. Jerôme Poivey, head of Institutional Relations at the IOC NOC Relations Department," said De Kepper.
De Kepper also said that IOC has no issues with the proposed date for elections - Sep 29.
"The IOC has no objection with respect to the date proposed for the holding of the Elective General Meeting on 29 September. The IOC will send all its comments on the new IOA constitution by mid-August."
