Iranian n-talks likely to be extended

The Iranian nuclear talks are likely to be extended to July 1, a source told Xinhua Monday, adding that the working deadline is being set at the end of March, but all are yet to be confirmed.

The source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that the ongoing nuclear talks are expected to adjourn and would likely be extended, while the location for further talks has not been decided yet.

The details would be discussed and revealed later, the source added.

Media reports said the nuclear negotiations are expected to adjourn Monday and reconvene next month.

Negotiators from Iran and major world countries are here for a final push following days of intensive talks.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with his Iranian, Russian and US counterparts, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry, respectively, while taking part in the nuclear talks in the Austrian capital.

Wang said China, as a responsible negotiating party, has always been promoting peace and dialogue, looking to help reach a comprehensive agreement over the nuclear issue, which meets the common interests of the international community.

As the negotiations have entered a crucial stage, China holds a fair and objective stance, Wang said, adding that China has brought new ideas for resolving the remaining focal issues, hoping to add new impetus to the negotiations. The details are not available yet.

In addition, foreign ministers from the P5+1 group -- the US, Britain, France, China, Russia plus Germany -- have concluded talks to coordinate their positions over the issue.
